As reported by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), a poached moose was found on Christmas day near Jarbidge, not far from the intersection of O’Neil Basin Road and the access road that leads to Sun Creek, near the units 72 and 75. It's been determined to be a deliberate act, as large portions of the meat were taken along with the severed head.

There is no hunting season for moose in the state of Nevada. They estimate to be a mere 25 - 40 moose statewide, as their expansion into the state was only recently declared a few months ago.

The state is a offering a $1,000 $10,000 reward for any details and information that lead to a conviction. You can report such information to (800) 992-3030.
